Course objective:
Upon completion of this course, students should obtain knowledge and skills from different areas of project management, which are necessary for their full integration into project teams, or their leadership. Educational areas include principles, methods, techniques and tools of project management focused primarily on the process approach according to PMI standards. Skills section of the course is focused on mastering the initiating and planning processes trough the project plan preparation.
 
Course methods: Classes will be split into the lectures and seminars. Lectures objectives will be focused on introduction of Project Management approaches according to described structure. Seminars objective will be focused on practising of particular themes of the project management and project process control and on preparation of data for semester work. The students teamwork will be used on the most of seminars. Attendance in seminars is mandatory.
 
Course content:
1.Project management - definitions, objectives, principles, integration into enterprise management system. (allowance 1/0)
2.Basic principles of international project management standards with an emphasis on process based project management according to PMI standards. (allowance 1/0)
3.Project integration, scope and stakeholders management - Project charter, WBS, Identify, Plan and control in stakeholder management. (allowance 1/2)
4.Project time management - Time estimates of activities, developing of work schedule, The CPM method, usage of software tools. (allowance 2/2)
5.Project costs management - Preparation and control of financial budgets, Cost estimates. (allowance 2/2)
6.Project risk management - Risks identification, Qualitative and quantitative analysis, Risk matrix and Plan of responses. (allowance 1/2)
7.Project quality, human resources, communications and procurement management - initiating, planning and controlling processes. (allowance 2/2)
 
Learning outcomes and competences:
After completing the course, student will be able to:

Course completion:
The students are required to finish subject by the test and presentation of the case study.
Presumption of successful passing of subject is:

a) passing of mid-term test = 10 points,
b) submission of the semester project = 20 points,
c) passing of final test = 70.
