Course objective:
Learning outcomes of the course unit the objective of the course is to provide the necessary knowledge and methodology of organizing and managing production in order to implement the production program of the company in a high quality and economical way. The aim is to acquaint with progressive methods and information systems for the management of industrial production, including familiarization with the necessary knowledge in the field of technical preparation of production, innovation of production programs and organization of production systems. Students will also be provided with vital information from the field of control of the auxiliary and service processes of the production unit.

Course content:
1.History, development and present of industrial production. (allowance 2/0)
2.Production, production process of types production, production characteristics, forms of organization of production. (allowance 2/0)
3.Production system, its structure and elements of the production system, typology and organization of the production process. (allowance 2/0)
4.Typology and layout of the production proces, time structure of the production system, and methods of exploration and measurement of time consumption. (allowance 2/1)
5.Process management approaches and levels of operation management. (allowance 2/0)
6.Planning and managing production capacities. (allowance 4/0)
7.Selected principles, methods and tools applied in organization and production management. (allowance 2/0)
8.Characteristics and management of production inventories. (allowance 2/2)
9.Break point and utilization of production capacities. (allowance 1/3)
10.Takt time, cycle time, overlapping cycles, synchronization coefficient, production work performance. (allowance 1/3)
11.Characteristics of work, its consumption and productivity. Overall Equipment Effectiveness. (allowance 2/3)
12.The basics of lean manufacturing. (allowance 2/0)
 
Learning outcomes and competences:
After completing the course, student will be able to:
 
-Will analyze the state of production system and suggests a solution to the future optimal state
-Will discuss basic problems of operational management
-Will interpret significant key performance indicators used in production management
-Will recognize foundational principles of organization, management and planning of production at the level of operational management

Course completion:
Student during examination fill the test of 25 questions covering content of the subject and than verbally respond 3 additional question raised by the examinator. Aim of the exam is to declare knowledge of the subject content Further there is put emphasis on ability to use theoretical knowledge in practical solution of case study and its presentation.
