Course objective:
The goal of the course is to understand the meaning and the role of business processes in the management of an organization and its information system as well as the general role of the technology in the development of an organization. Students will learn principles, techniques and tools for modelling of business processes, and will gain the practical experience from using them. This way the students will be prepared for the attendance in the real projects which require the understanding of business processes, mainly in the information system development projects.
Course methods: Lectures.

Practical project (semestral work).
Course content:
Business processes and process-driven management (history, context, principles and relation to the IT development). (allowance 1/0)
Development of the process system of an organization. (allowance 9/12)
Business processes modelling in the context of the business systems modelling (modelling techniques and tools).
Business processes models: system (global) versus algorithmic (detailed) process model.
Procedure for the development of process system and its basic infrastructures.
Process system development: strategic values, primary function, basic process and functional structure of an organization.
e.Process system development: key process, support processes and their mutual communication.
Integration of the strategy goals and the primary function of an organization with its business processes..
Business process modelling technique. Basic Process Flow Pattern.
Detailed process modelling: basic process flow logic.
Detailed process modelling: communication with external actors and processes, process states.

a.Role of business processes in the process of development of information system of an organization. Related technology and organizational aspects (Workflow, ERP).
Development of the complex process system and its basic infrastructures.

Learning outcomes and competences:
After completing the course, student:
Create the methodically correct detailed model of the business process flow
Create the process conception of the business domain and describe it with the Process Map
Understand the essence of the process-driven management and the role of information technology and information system there
