Course objective:
Students get knowledge of basic conceptions and methods of econometric modelling, structure, construction and verification of econometric models from theoretical and especially practical points of view. They are acquainted with principles of application of these models in the analysis of economic indicators and in forecasting. Students learn basic methods of data processing.

1.Econometrics, principles, subject and methods. (allowance 2/1)
2.Classical linear regression model and its properties. (allowance 2/2)
3.OLS method. (allowance 2/1)
4.Basic tests. (allowance 2/2)
5.Heteroscedasticity. (allowance 2/1)
6.Autocorrelation. (allowance 2/1)
7.Economic time series, forecasting, stacionarity. (allowance 2/1)
8.Multicollinearity. (allowance 2/1)
9.Production functions (allowance 2/1)
10.Dummy variables. (allowance 2/1)
11.Model of demand for durable goods. (allowance 2/0)
12.Systems of dynamic simultaneous equations. (allowance 2/0)
 
Learning outcomes and competences:
After completing the course, student will be able to:
 
-Will analyse parameters estimated by cross-section data
-Will analyse parameters estimated by time-series
-Will apply econometrics to the concepts of a) production functions, b) demand for long-run consumer goods
-Will formulate econometric models and estimate parameters by the appropriate methods
-Will formulate economic analyses and prognoses on the base of econometric models

Course completion:
Two control tests, homework, oral examination.
The tests include theoretical questions and practical tasks. From each test it is possible to receive up to 25 points. At each seminar the homework of computational nature is given. From the homework maximum of 20 points is possible to receive. The condition for obtaining the credit is to achieve at least 40 points from the tests and homework. From the oral examination it is possible to receive a maximum of 30 points.
