Course objective:
The aim of the course is to provide students with core concepts of managements, incl. management styles, corporate management, hierarchical organization structures. Students will gain knowledge and understanding of management functions, roles, objectives and selected techniques, which they will be able to apply in real life situations.
Course methods: Lectures and case-driven seminars (for full time students). Theory-driven seminars (for part time students).

4.Management functions - Organizing and organization. (allowance 2/1)
5.Managements functions - Control. Quality control. (allowance 2/1)
6.Communication and motivation (allowance 2/1)
7.Organizational Culture. (allowance 2/1)
8.Leadership, team management. Leadership styles. (allowance 2/1)
9.Human resource management. (allowance 2/1)
10.Decision making. Role of data, information, and knowledge for management. (allowance 2/1)
11.Leading for innovation. (allowance 2/1)
12.Managerial Ethics. (allowance 0/0)
Learning outcomes and competences:
After completing the course, student:
-Will explain the core of key management functions (planning, organizing, leading, control, decision-making, innovation management, managerial ethics)
-Will express the substance of foundational schools of management
-Will give examples of application of key management functions
-Will interpret requirements imposed on manager's personality, leadership and development of organizational culture
-Will recognize foundational elements of management and operations within an organization

Course completion:
Two mid-term tests (max. 10 pts each). Other interim assessment components, incl. activity and a case study in amount of 20 pts. Final exam eligibility criteria - min. 28 out of 40 pts. Written (max. 45 pts - min. 20 pts.) and oral (max. 15 pts - min 5 pts) exam at the end of the course. For full-time students - active participation at seminars. For part-time students - a seminar project.
