Course objective:
Describe the technical aspects of data processing technology (with an emphasis on the function of the computer as the center of the structure and the interconnections of the individual components of the system) and network and communication technologies. Explain the elements of the software using the concepts of system control. Pay attention to the structure of algorithms and application programs, including practical demonstrations. To familiarize students with the features of programming languages. Describe design of application and user software. Understand the features and principles of data communication. Describe the ISO/OSI reference model. To get acquainted with database management systems.

The subject represents one of the basic elements of the professional part of the field of study.
