Course objective:
Upon completion of this course, students should obtain knowledge and skills from single fields of the manufacturing enterprise logistics, which are necessary for managing logistics foot-holds on the first-line managers and departments specialists. From the point of view of the knowledge, students meet main logistics processes (purchase, manufacturing, and distribution logistics) and subsidiary logistics processes (inventory control, warehousing, material handling, packing, and transport). From the viewpoint of the skills, the main attention is focused on methods and tools suitable for an analysis and solution of operative logistics problems.
Course methods:
Tutorials deal with inventory control, e-kanban, logistics games, and excursions in ŠKODA AUTO Logistics and ŠKODA AUTO Logistics Lean Center.
Course content:
Logistics management - definition, objectives, basic principles, development of logistics management (allowance 2/2)
Trends in logistics management - supply chain management, leanness, agility, resilience, greenness, sustainability, Industry 4.0 (allowance 2/0)
Purchase logistics management - definition, types of pruchasing situations, purchasing process, supplier evaluation and selection (allowance 2/0)
Manufacturing logistics management - definition, reasons for its development, logistics solutions in manufacturing, logistics in Czech industrial production, types of production and their impact on logistics (allowance 1/0)
MRP/ERP systems and Theory of Constraints and DBR system - definition, structure and example of utilisation of MRP I system, MRP II, ERP, and APS system, definition of Theory of Constraints, ongoing improvement process, DBR systém and possibilities of its application (allowance 3/0)
Just-in-time concept and Kanban system as main pillars of Lean manufacturing - just-in-time concept definition, comparison of traditional and JIT manufacturing, problems with JIT implementation, JIT implementation (allowance 2/6)
Just-in-time concept and Kanban system as main pillars of Lean manufacturing - alternative solutions, Kanban and Milkrun system (allowance 2/4)
Distribution logistics management - definition and reasons of its development, structure of distribution chains, Distribution Requirement Planning, ECR and QR systems (allowance 2/0)
9.Inventory analysis and control - reasons for holding inventories, inventory costs, inventory classification, methods and recommendations for inventory control (allowance 2/8)
Packaging and handling - definition, packaging and handling units, handling equipment (allowance 2/2)
Warehouse management - definition, warehouse activities and technologies (allowance 2/2)
12.Transportation and transport - definition, transport segmentation, selection of mode of transport (allowance 2/0)
Learning outcomes and competences:
After completing the course, student:
Will apply methods and tools for inventory analysis and control
-Will define logistics management of an industrial enterprise, its goals, basic principles, development and latest trends
Will express the substance of the main logistics processes (purchase, manufacturing, and distribution logistics management)
Will express the substance of the subsidiary logistics processes (inventory analysis and control, packaging and handling, warehouse management, and transportation and transport)
Will give examples of concepts, systems, tools, technologies, and solutions used in individual logistics processes

Course completion:
1. Participation in tutorials is necessary condition. Maximum of unexcused absences are two, next two absences can be compensated by elaborating extra seminar works with topics of the not passed tutorials. It is related to the on-site study.

2. Point evaluation of the subject:
- Maximum 40 points in tutorials in form of two seminar works from the fields of inventory control (minimum 12 and maximum 20 points per test), minimum 24 points (sum of points scored of tests) for advance to the examination.
- Maximum 60 points for examination in form of an e-learning test, minimum 30 points for successful completion of the subject. The test is replaced with an oral examination in part-time mode of study.

3. E-learning test (on-site study)
- Examination dates published in information system AIS.
- Duration 30 minutes.
- Twenty questions covering the whole content of the subject.
- Selection of one answer from four possible options.
- Three points for the correct answer, points for wrong or unanswered questions are not abated.

4. Examples of the e-learning test questions (two kinds of questions):
