Course objective:
The aim of the course is to deliver essential knowledge from the field of economic policy. This course is focused on EU topics. The main emphasis is focused on ability of graduates to estimate results and impacts of certain policy measures and its potentials and limits in both national and supranational contexts.

1.Theoretical foundations of Economic Policy, its aims, tools and subjects. Points of view on the subject. (allowance 2/0)
2.Economic policy and election system, democratic decision making in cases where highly qualified analysis is needed. Political or technocratic? (allowance 2/0)
3.Philosophy of law and economics of trust. (allowance 2/0)
4.Macroeconomic analysis. (allowance 2/0)
5.Stabilization policy. (allowance 2/0)
6.Macroeconomic policy mix in a small open economy. (allowance 2/0)
7.Selected issues of microeconomic policy. (allowance 4/0)
8.The European Union - development, facts, law, institutions and budget. (allowance 2/0)
9.Economic integration, real and nominal economic convergence. (allowance 2/0)
10.The EU Economic Policy. (allowance 2/0)
11.Globalization. (allowance 2/0)
12.Chalenges of contemporary economic policy. (allowance 2/0)
 
Learning outcomes and competences:
After completing the course, student:
 
-Will explain relationships among the subjects of economic policy
-Will interpret main aims of both macro- and microeconomic policy
-Will understand the definitions of the Economic Policy subject at intermediate level
